As Larry is on holiday cruising, one final Bash reminder.
It is going to be hot. Thursday and Friday are going to be in the thirties. Saturday and Sunday a more reasonable mid-twenties. Hats and suntan cream are a must. If you are coming by car you can add a parasol to that. It is not supposed to be windy.
I have decided to go up Thursday morning in an effort to make sure we have the best pitches for the tables and GP tent. I have paid for my room in the pub and two pitches for three nights, one electric, one non electric with awning (for the tables – I am bringing a camo net for shade).
Fortunately I found my list from last year so getting everything together wasn’t too much of a nightmare, everything is ready to go in the car Wednesday evening. The car will be jammed. Fingers crossed the garage’s work holds up. No leaks so far.
Other things everyone should try and bring:
- A Chair
- Plate if you don’t want disposable – I have cutlery
- A cooler, full of ice. You are unlikely to find any in Chippy if last year is anything to go by
- Drinks
- £20 folding for food and consumables. That should cover you Friday evening to Sunday morning. Meals and drink are obviously available in the pub.
- A torch of some sort
Sunday lunch is booked for eighteen, if that’s any indicator I’m guessing thirty or forty of you are going to be there. If you’re camping or motorhoming I advise you to get to the GHH as early as you can Friday. It is a big place but last year was busier than I’ve seen it. The new owner is making a better go of it than most have over the last ten years.
If you’d like to buy fellow puffins a beer or support GP there’s a link below. As you can imagine there are a lot of expenses in organising this event, including my cat feeder who’s driving over from the New Forest Saturday.
