The third Sunday of Advent – #Peace.

Maestà, or Maestà of Duccio is an altarpiece composed of many individual paintings commissioned by the city of Siena in 1308 from the artist Duccio di Buoninsegna, 1308–1311 It is the central panel of the altarpiece of the Cathedral in Siena.

Painted in 1308/11.

Adeste fideles læti triumphantes,
Venite, venite in Bethlehem.
Natum videte
Regem angelorum:

Deum de Deo, lumen de lumine
Gestant puellæ viscera
