Celebration Dinner

Hard to believe but early next year it will be GP’s tenth anniversary. In celebration of that event there will be a dinner at the usual place in West London. Nothing booked yet but it will be the end of January (30th) or the beginning of February (6th). Emails to the usual address GP email to reserve yourselves a place.

Anyone wanting to hold a dinner elsewhere i.e in the North I will be glad to help with the organisation and attend if I can, though obviously not on the same date.

It’s Christmas, nearly. Christmas food recipes, recommendations for carols, any other articles you’d like to contribute will gratefully be received. Send in via email (see above) with a Word doc or similar and (copyright free) images attached.

Supporting GP

Those of you who don’t use an Adblocker already know I removed most of the ads from the site, especially the most annoying ones. I also pay a sub to Disqus so you have an ad free commenting system. Perhaps those of you who do use an Adblocker would try whitelisting GP for a few days as they are not exactly onerous anymore and every penny helps.

Many of the bills associated with the cost of running the site will be arriving soon, hosting costs, costs associated with the holding entity and more. I’d also like to improve the data security (GP’s and yours) which would be another monthly cost, plus some hardware upgrades as Win 7 and 10 are no longer supported so I’m going to have to bite the bullet and upgrade.

A special thank you to all those who have gone above and beyond to support the site with hardware, the site URL etc over the last ten years. GP wouldn’t be here without you.
