Gentle Fracking

On Thursday the 9th my ears nearly fell off and it was nothing to do with nominations for the Labour leadership opening. It was because a bitcoin mining company in North Yorkshire is going to be given permission for “gentle fracking” so they can find enough gas to power their data centres Said permission was given by none other than nut zero lunatic Ed Militwat.

The eco loon has stopped all fracking in the UK because of the risk of earthquakes, just more lefty BS as far as I can see but has decided to be generous to a private company who stand to make significant amounts of money looking for gas. I would suggest an investigation is called for into how much they have bunged the Marxist Militwat. I see no other reason why he has relented with them but not with us.

What on earth is gentle fracking. Do they whisper sweet nothing down the bore holes, do they use feathers on the drill bits. I think we should be told. As far as I can tell the difference between normal fracking and gentle fracking is that normally they force water into the rock cracks under high pressure. The gentle version uses low pressure water and that seems to be about it. Does this mean we will only get gentle earthquakes from this abomination. Can we expect a meejah cover up if it all goes pear shaped, I reckon we can.

The gentle version of this process still forces water, sand and various chemicals into the rock, just at lower pressure and a lower volume. This allegedly avoids the noticeable earthquakes from the original fracking tests.

The company involved is Reabold Resources, an investment company operating in the European gas market. The chosen site, at West Newton, contains about 8 billion cubic metres of gas and this company reckons it will be able to mine about 50,000 bitcoins, currently worth about £2.5 billion. Mining bitcoins, which seems to consist of running lots of programs, or multiple copies of one program, on lots of computers takes an awful lot of computing power and accordingly lots of electric.

Lo and behold, the lunatic Militwat has equated a private company using its own gas for its own electricity as helping with our energy security.

My question is that if this is all above board and I suspect it isn’t why can’t we do the same thing and generate a bit more electric for us, the long long suffering general public.
