Today Spanner Starmer announced he has decided to increase the amount by which emissions will be cut to 81%. No details of how of course, He and Miliband are forcing or attempting to force through something which I believe can only be achievable by more draconian laws and penalties together with reducing the quality of life for the majority to near zero. The cart is truly being put before the horse.
They do not give or have any coherent plan to achieve this 81% cut, nothing to offer but fines and new laws all saying what people will not now be allowed to do. For example no gas in any new home, the removal of gas boilers, enforced electrical heating, heat pumps to be installed. Forced to buy Electric vehicles. Part of the enforcement includes that permission will be automatically granted for hundreds, thousands of acres of open countryside to be covered by solar panel farms together with thousands of monstrous pylons and windmills completing the disfigurement of the land.
All this but no facts, here are a few facts.
The last coal fired power station, Ratcliffe-on-Soar was closed in September. Four of the five remaining nuclear power stations are due to close, two in 2026, two more in 2028 the nuclear power capacity will fall from 6GW today to just 1.2GW by 2028 yet Miliband continues to boast that he will deliver a net zero power grid by 2030. We are now importing much of our power from abroad.
The demand for power has not fallen but power production has, the demand for electricity will soar as heat pumps, EVs, are forced on us, industry forced into using electricity. Demand for electricity is set to increase from around 300 terrawatt hours now to 350twhrs by 2030 and 600 twhrs by 2060.
Windmills and solar farms have already been introduced but as shown over the past fortnight, calm and overcast, production is near nil. According to research the load factor which is the percentage of time they actually generate power is 30% for windmills and just 10% for solar panels therefore even to achieve 50% of demand then five times the number of solar panel farms etc have to be built.
What is needed is all the idiocy be stopped and a large number of nuclear power stations built. Nuclear power is truly the nearest thing to magic yet discovered.
Spanner says he wants to grow business yet on the other hand is restricting the power supply needed together with the anti business budget Thieves has cobbled together.
The only plan Spanner and Miliband have to cope with the power cuts is to come up with yet more Spanner speak – consumer management – the National Energy System Operator NESO has come up with a plan to manage demand by paying consumers to cut their usage when supply is tight.
It’s being called the “The Demand Flexibility Service” in other words rationing. We are going the way of South Africa, wait and see. Already talk of restricting the number of flights allowed per year, not for Spanner and mob if course. All the strictures now put on car sales with fines for not complying, Eco loon mobs allowed to run amok, more and more obstacles put in the way of existing let alone living.
This is from a so called energy markets expert, ‘we’ll have vast quantities of electricity like you’ve never seen, we won’t be able to use it all but other times we won’t’. Don’t forget folks he says he’s an expert. What an idiot, surely the first plan should be to make sure continuous supply can be maintained but no, airy unicorn talk about batteries is all that’s on offer.
UK Business and the public are being asked to change the way they use power while at the same time paying the highest costs in the developed world. Consumers, the public, are already in debt to the tune of c.4billion£ for power.
Solar panels have an optimistic life of 20 years, Windmills similar although my view is that the ones in the North Sea will deteriorate within 10 years. Spanner and Miliband have destroyed what we had before putting any reliable coherent system in place.
Remember Ronnie B people and his forkhandles, have some candles handy, if you have a wood burner, multi fuel stove, an Open hearth, treasure it and probably post a guard on your house to repel the Miliband Stove Remover Stasi.
The situation is serious but not for them – for us.
