Of course there are only a handful of candidates for the title of everyone’s favourite villain and in this case it is Klaus Schwab. He has been known as the King of Davos for 55 years, named after the Swiss ski resort where his WEF held and perhaps still holds annual meetings of the rich and powerful. Past guests are a veritable who’s who of the world’s elite.
During two days in April 2025 Klaus was defenestrated and forced out of the WEF which he founded. There were allegations of misusing WEF funds, manipulating research and inappropriate behaviour with staff. Why are these big powerful people so perverted. For inappropriate read a dirty old man who tried it on, a lot.
An insider claimed he had chances to step aside ten, seven and five years ago but he toughed it out and clung on to his position.
A second investigation into Schwab revealed the above allegations and put a bit of meat on the research part. It is claimed the WEF rigged data to make Brexit look like a failure. The jury is out on that as far as I can see, the political class here never had any intention of implementing Brexit but instead kept us under the heel of the EU until such time as a PM would try to wangle us back in. The name of that PM can now be revealed as Keith Starmer who is doing his damnedest to drag us back in accompanied by a grinning Fonda Lying. She wasn’t grinning when the Donald just shafted her with the new US-EU trade deal.
Back to Klaus, he allegedly put his decrepit old crotch in front of a female staffer’s face, hosed $50 million on a luxury villa and had an expense tab of £836,000 that was not clearly linked with WEF activities. In common with all lefties, Klaus denies all charges.
Born in 1938 in Ravensburg to Swiss parents Klaus retains his German citizenship. His father was director of Escher Wyss AG, a Swiss engineering company, in Germany. While at Harvard Klaus found a mentor in Henry Kissinger, another man with a chequered past. He founded the European Management Forum in 1971 until its rename to the World Economic Forum in 1987. There have been a raft of allegations against top level WEF employees and several have left. Most allegations involved corruption of one kind or another.
One of Schwab’s books is entitled “The Great Reset”, now there is a name to conjure with and it has been a godsend for conspiracy theorists.
After mixing with world leaders for decades Klaus can now take time to gather his thoughts. Davos is now in a kind of limbo embroiled in disgrace. But never fear, the tiddlies have Boao Forum, known as the Asian Davos and the Saudis have started the Future Investment Initiative which may well turn out to be Davos in the Desert.
In 2024 the Wall Street Journal accused the WEF of a culture that was hostile to black people and women, this was just the start of a tsunami of allegations. Women who fell pregnant were pushed aside and, clutch your pearls, at least two staff members used the N word. Yet again the WEF denied everything claiming to be purer than the driven snow. Former employees even set up a WhatsApp group to air their grievances.
Questions about how luxury can a villa be for $50 million are easily answered by disclosing that said villa, its name is Villa Mundi, lies next to the WEF HQ and overlooks Lake Geneva. Pictures show a fairly standard concrete and glass box typical of modern Swiss design. It is of course quite large and you can use google to see it in all its glory. I think I would prefer something more classical on the shores of Lake Como but then you would have to be careful you didn’t bump into the Clooneys and I couldn’t even afford the garden gate on such a villa.
Having spent years blustering in an attempt to try and cement his position Schwab was finally upended after seemingly going full tonto against the ever increasing number of allegations. I do hope this signals the complete demise of the WEF, if it struggles on we can but hope it has little to no influence on world affairs. As the great and good did their annual pilgrimage by flying in to Zurich and then motoring down to Davos I can only say that it is not a pleasant drive or do they use helicopters.
The President and CEO of the WEF is Børge Brende, a Norwegian. The Chairman is Peter Brubeck-Letmathe, an Austrian. I wish them both zero success and a swift fall into obscurity.
