One of the reasons Bodybags Burnham gave for not needing a General Election when became Prime Minister was that he was going to stick to Labour’s 2024 manifesto. You know, the manifesto that Rodney Spanner essentially ignored even though he had been elected on it. Rodney’s victory was basically Tory voters voting with their feet and not bothering to vote.
Since he got the keys to Number 10 (both of them) we have had a long procession of announcements from the useless pair of eyebrows. I fear he has fallen into the trap, which he may have been in for some time, of saying something and believing it will happen. This is an MO much favoured by Crayons herself. Experience tells us that this far from the case and if you want something to happen you actually have to do something about it.
My biggest beef is about the way Labour are trying to sneak us back into Europe salami style. This is doing it a slice at a time. Some of the Labour shower have openly said they want to rejoin and almost all are in favour of closer cooperation on just about everything. There was no mention of this in that rubbish manifesto and seeing as we had a referendum and leave won, surely we should have a vote on rejoining even if it is only a line or two in a manifesto.
The apparent long stop in our unwritten constitution is that the House of Lords will not vote down anything that was in a winning manifesto. Good, that means they could vote this nonsense down but in reality, there are so many pro-EU peers there seems little chance of that happening. Our political class have been seething ever since we voted out and have done everything in their power to keep us in the clutches of the EU.
The latest pronouncement is that Foreign Aide will be increased from 0.2% to 0.7% of GNI or Gross National Income. CallMeDave was the useless so and so who introduced the 0.7% rule and passed laws to ensure it. This was not in the manifesto but was introduced so he could feel smug when in meetings of international leaders. One of the few useful things Rodney Spanner did was to reduce it to 0.2%. Allegedly at the behest of Edstone Militwat, who is now incredibly our Foreign Minister, it will be increased back to 0.7%. Maybe Ed wants to feel smug in the same way CallMeDave did. Yet again, this does not appear in Labour’s manifesto either. I wonder what hold the Militwat has that gives him the power to dictate policy.
Another of the pronouncements from Bodybags is to increase devolution. Aside from SNP and Plaid members who on earth would vote for that. It has been a disaster from day one and is obviously designed to break up our United Kingdom. Another no show in the manifesto.
He has also said he wants to keep the state pension triple lock. Those of us on pensions should be very worried. It will turn out to be that he really did want to keep it but circumstances no longer allow it. They need to money to pay for the invaders.
Finally we have the insanity of Number 10 o’t North. This was nowhere near the manifesto, why would Mr Spanner need it when his constituency was slap bang in the middle of London. This is going to cost a lot of money and may even (= will probably) be scrapped by the next Prime Minister who may be from Wales or the West Country. It was just a way to make Manchester look more important than it is.
Our ballooning welfare bill, presently running at about £1 billion a day, will make any decision on other public spending irrelevant. There will be no other money for anything else. They will try to increase taxes, add a wealth tax, maybe even introduce a few new ones but there is a limit to how much you can screw out of the few people still in a job in the private sector. They are unlikely to raise the tax take by anything near the required amount.
Every time he opens his mouth Bodybags commits us to lots more spending. We just don’t have the money and this is why we need to get them out.
There are lots of rumours he will call a GE for October. I see this as almost certain. He cannot answer questions and if he calls it a week or two after Parliament resumes, it will shut down again for the slanging match they like to call a campaign. If he can keep on doing his happy chap impression without too much scrutiny he may just pull it off. His backbenchers are not in favour, too many will lose their place at the trough but they will have no say in the decision. My guess on the result would be a coalition with the LibDums, probably the worst result possible. Some, perhaps most, of the LibDums are even more loony than Labour.
Just to prove how utterly incompetent Labour are The Sun has reported that the Tottenham Turnip gave our Andeh the phone number of Susan Wiles, the Donald’s Chief of Staff. The Turnip had already been busy messaging to and fro even though the number certainly wasn’t that of Susan Wiles and was probably Russian hackers. The implication of this news was that it was Bodybags himself who initiated contact. No wonder they don’t want to release any details. It was our Ambassador in Washington who had to tell the septics what had been going on, poor sod. Perhaps the Donald was highly amused.
