The Art of the Deal

United States government work

Creating chaos is part of the Donald’s Art of the Deal. It has been succinctly explained by Andrew Torba.

  1. Start with an extreme position to create room for compromise
  2. Use attention grabbing statements to control the narrative and put the other side on the defensive
  3. Create a sense of urgency to pressure the other side into making concessions
  4. Keep the other side guessing about your true intentions and bottom line
  5. Be willing to walk away if the deal doesn’t meet your standards

Being in the apparent chaos phase the important word we need to focus on is compromise. This means that the initial demands are not the target. We are seeing this play out with Chyna. The Chinese have allegedly fallen into his trap, they will be fixated on the initial demands not the desired outcome. The Democrat leaning MSM will only look at the initial demands and the chaos. Once the Donald has started to compromise they will claim he has caved in, failed and led to world to the brink of disaster.

The tiddlies, in common with much of the far east, are heavily into “face” and subsequently way out of their depth. My bet is that the USA will get exactly what it wants and all the steps leading to this will be graphically described as the Donald rowing back and losing. What the man in the street makes of it all is anybody’s guess.

We can see what is happening in Panama as vindication of the Art of the Deal. Panama has now negotiated a deal with the USA whereby Chinese influence, let alone control, has been diminished to the point of non existence and the USA will be allowed to move its warships through the canal with priority and no charge. All the hints of military action have have disappeared and the USA has got its wish. No doubt the Democrats were hoping a shooting war was about to break out, they do love a bit of violence.

In Ukraine the USA is stepping back but Russia sees a way to grab even more territory cheaply. The Art of the Deal doesn’t seem to have worked out too well there but we may soon get a real ceasefire and the eejits will soon stop killing each other and start discussions.

In the meantime with the stock markets up and down like a bride’s nightie, the rest of the world seems mesmerised by what is going on. The latest news is that the Dow Jones has put trillions back on having lost trillions when the tariffs were announced. Anyone a bit savvy in the stocks and shares game, that’s not me in case you wonder, will have made a fortune.

There is strife and discord between Elon Musk and Pete Navarro. Pete is a counsellor to the President for trade and manufacturing. He has just accused Elon of being an assembler of cars rather than a manufacturer. Pete is an economist who may well live in an ivory tower for this point of view is patently untrue. Elon’s response has been to describe him as dumb as a sack of bricks. Such a squabble is not in anyone’s interest, surely the Donald will have banged their heads together. In his defence, I will say that at least Pete’s ex-wife looks to be completely feminine unlike the wives of many other leaders who are in the news.

Let’s treat all the gloom and doom from the left with the disdain it deserves. The world will emerge from this tariff strife in good shape. The EU has just decided to tread the same path as Chyna and tough it out as well, they voted 26-27 in favour of retaliation with only Hungary voting against. Obviously Fonda Lying has not read the Art of the Deal but then again, the Eurocrats are so puffed up with self importance and a conviction that they are untouchable it is unlikely they have even heard of said Art let alone looked at it. It is reasonably easy to predict that the tiddlies and the EU will come out of this on the losing side. China can afford to lose a bit, the EU cannot. As as postscript to this, there are reports Giorgia Meloni wants to visit Washington to get an Italy only deal, not sure how that will work when Brussels HQ decides they are the only ones who can make a deal. Interesting times indeed but I am sure the Donald will be very happy to drive a wedge through the European Union.

However it plays out you can rest assured the left’s headlines will be that the Donald has nearly wrecked the world and has lost bigly in the struggle against his perceived enemies. None will look at the reality of what has happened and recognise he got exactly what he wanted in the first place, or at least most of it. I have to say he has been most undiplomatic saying countries are queuing up to kiss his butt (bowdlerised).

Maybe we should all buy shares in popcorn companies.

My biggest cause for concern are the threats about Iran that are appearing. I wouldn’t care if Iran was obliterated from the face of the earth but all hell would then break out. I do hope all this military build-up is designed to put pressure on. Negotiations with Iran are due to begin on Saturday the 12th, are you superstitious, at least it’s not a Friday the 13th. It is so easy to see the hand of Netanyahu behind all of this. Let us fervently pray that they all come to their senses and do not start a war where we are all going to lose out. Q has said Israel will be dealt with last (Q may or may not be the real thing), exactly how this will come to pass is most uncertain but I think many of us will be sure Israel needs to be reined in.
