10+ years ago, I was totally disinterested in politics, and my get-out clause was “they’re all the same”.
The Brexit vote stirred me to get more interested and I started to notice the bias of the BBC on this. I thought it just a bias as most people in the BBC would be pro Europe.
Similarly for Saggy’s Brexit negotiations – the blob is welded to the EU and didn’t want to leave. Joined here in May 2017 if I remember correctly.
Then along comes Boris with effectively a minority government with so many pro-EU Lib Dems in his party. Voted for him in 2019 and hoped – rather than expected – for great things.
And then comes covid. I was initially taken in, but had my mind on other things as Mrs C-T had nearly died at the hands of our NHS in Dec 19-Feb 20 and was stuck in bed at home with a 10+ inch cut open leg ( down to the bone – we have photos!) with a suction machine on it.
My “belief” in covid started to slip the more I found out about it – the more I researched, the less I believed. I knew in March 2020 it was a lab modified (Zero Hedge article that they got kicked off Twitter for). The longer the charade went on, the more confused I was as to why others couldn’t see it.
Yes, I wore masks initially and “complied” but then that was easy to do as I’m perfectly happy to stay at home for long periods and shitpost. Working from home was easy and convenient when your wife cannot get out of bed on her own.
Can’t remember when in 2020 I refused to comply, but it started with getting an I’m exempt badge off ebay…. The look of horror on people’s faces was unsettling at first and then I’d just laugh it off. I couldn’t believe that people believed all the manipulation going on.
Then the was the absolute steal of the US election – the evidence was everywhere but no one who had any ability to do anything about it did anything. Corruption was becoming more and more obvious – especially with the Biden laptop story being so thoroughly lied about.
The end of 2020 brought “full” Brexit came and went and it was getting more and more apparent how shit a deal had been done – how none of this was being run in our interests.
Some of the family got jabbed, the younger ones because they have been taught not to question and another to keep her Uni place. Most of the adults did not. Most complied with the masks too, even although they knew it was bollocks. Peer pressure was very obvious.
Going back into work after the second lockdown in mid-21 I refused to wear a mask. Everyone else did when away from their desk and some even when at their desk. When the mask mandate was removed mid-22, some people STILL wore masks. Everyone there was degree or above educated, but watching the hive mind at work was an interesting social observation.
The jabs started to work – people dying, getting adverse reactions (we know of perhaps a dozen we think/know were jab related) and many, many getting covid almost immediately after their jabs. Go Fauci! I was incredulous that “The Establishment” were still pushing these things.
Then we had the start of the Russia-Ukraine war in 2022. At first, I was confused, but with some research understood what was going on. What a terrible waste of life only perpetuated by the West – for money and domination of Russia – enabled by Boris torpedoing the tentative agreement Putin had with Zelensky. Most of the “Russian atrocities” turned out to be Ukrainian. but if you ask the average man in the street, Putin is literally Hitler and the way to finish the war is for him to withdraw completely. How misled can you get.
In the intervening couple of years (well, since 2018 really) we’ve had that and the unwillingness of the Government to do anything about looking after its indigenous population. Mind boggling levels of immigration, public service that seems intent on keeping the service running at the same levels it reached at the peak of the covid “crisis”, inflation driven by money printing during 2020 and later as well as lie after lie after lie in Parliament.
When an MP does decided to raise his head above the parapet (Bridgen) he gets thrown out of the Conservative party, smeared, not listened to and generally cancelled. And yet the general public still cannot see it.
Running along side this we have Stephen Yaxley-Lennon (his real name) who has been hounded by the authorities for revealing stuff they would rather not have revealed. The consequence for him is that his marriage broke down and he’s been to prison a number of times – sentenced by the system. They keep trying to intimidate him, but he appears to be made of sterner stuff. We shall see how he is when he is finally released this time around.
2024 brought the General Election. We knew Labour would win and win they did – but with a small percentage of the population turning out and – for me – only the re-introduction of Nigel Farage did the campaign become interesting again. You may love him, be indifferent to him or hate him, but he does inject a certain frisson into proceedings. We did not vote – not only because we were out of the country at the time – but there was no one to vote for. The results were unsurprising except it did manage to elect 5 Reform who appear to offer more opposition than Badenoch’s so-called Tories.
Labour have had 5 months in office and appear to have done more damage to indigenous Brits in that time than the Tories did in 14 years (except for the volume of “immigrants”). They really are worse than I thought they’d be.
And now we come to the reason I wrote this rant out: Axel Rudakubana. Not specifically him – his crimes are heinous, but crimes like that get committed worldwide on a daily basis. Not him, the system. The fact they won’t release any details, the fact they are covering up, the fact they summarily imprisoned as many “rioters” and X/Facebook commentators as they could with as long a sentence as they dared on charges so minor. And they released more hardy criminals to make space! The whole thing stinks of cover up and I have now lost what little remaining faith I had in the authorities completely. Two tier at its finest.
There are shoots of hope, but they are only shoots. Trump’s re-election, his picks (although I suspect they will get bogged down in Senate approval), Musk’s involvement and also Musk’s potential involvement with Reform as well as X seemingly becoming loose from wokeness. You can already see the UK establishment trying to stop Elon funding Reform (there will be a way around any rules – there always is for those who can pay lawyers/accountants). As I wrote in a post “they are frit”.
Don’t get me wrong, Reform isn’t the answer in my mind, but the discourse is slowly shifting back to sensible thought. We shall see where it goes, because save revolution, that is all we can do in the wider scheme of things.
The future may or may not be bright, but – at least in America – it is looking orange. And that can only be good.
