Or we could call this money down the crapper or even money down the Gary Glitter.
With the revelations coming out of USAID via DOGE’s extremely young whizz kids regarding the funding of all sorts of dodgy organisations, our very own BBC has reared its very ugly head. Something called BBC Media Action got £2.6 million from USAID in 23-24 to push an anti Trump message. If I was the BBC I would be asking questions because Reuters got $300 million to push an anti-Musk message.
As far as I can see the money to the BBC was a waste, they already have a virulent anti-Trump message and don’t need any financial inducement to encourage them in that direction.
But BBC Media Action is not yer actual Al-Jabeeba, it is a charity. Formerly known as the BBC World Service Trust this Media Action thing makes some rather grandiose, and I might add misleading, claims about itself.
To quote their website and as you would expect, it is on the BBC’s main website, it is the BBC’s international charity. It goes on, in a world of disinformation, distrust and division, we share the BBC’s values, skills and experience to bring people together and foster greater and understanding and trust. With our partners we reach more than 100 million people in need around the world, in more than 30 countries and 50 languages. We work to provide impartial, impactful, trustworthy media to people in need sp they can make. Informed choices to transform their lives.
What a load of round objects. They continue that they are not funded by the Licence Fee but rely on donors such as governments, foundations, corporations and individuals.
A quick shuftee on the Charity Commission website tells me that this charity had an annual income of £32 million last year They even have an Indian setup that gets close to a million a year. BBC Media Action has 506 employees and 12 trustees, 17 of these fortunate people earn £60k to 70k. One of the trustees is Lindsey North, a former Company Secretary of the charity, who is also a trustee for the injun version. She has that tired old lefty face that would not lure a man out of a burning building.
Were I a Charity Commissioner there would be serious questions about this setup and its high falutin’ claims about itself. The words impartial and trustworthy should never be applied to the BBC or any of its tentacles.
Most of its international work is done in 3rd world you know what holes but they are also active in Estonia and Belarus. How odd. Even odder when you consider what they claim to do
- Education / Training
- The advancement of health or saving of lives
- The prevention or relief of poverty
- Overseas aid / famine relief
They have also launched their ground-breaking pledge to support future journalists at the UNGA and the Clinton Global Initiative. Looks like the shysters are gathering together.
It may also be enlightening to learn that Bill Gates, hero of Epstein Island, is now warning that with the apparent demise of USAID his foundation partners with USAID on getting the vaccines out. If they can’t do that you could literally have millions of deaths, he has already threatened a new pandemic. Why is he not in Gitmo. There is also no criticism of Bill for visiting our dear leader whereas if Musk as much as visits the toilet they come down on him like a ton of bricks. Impartiality indeed.
While our American cousins may be furious that their taxpayers are giving money to the UK state broadcaster we should also be vexed that the Foreign Office gave them £3 million last year. UNICEF also gave them £1million some of which may have originated from the good old US taxpayer
Much of USAID’s other work seems to involve regime change all over the place.It was certainly involved in the so called colour revolutions including the one in Ukraine that installed the clown Zelensky. Even more frightening is that they have been giving money to the WEF. Klaus and Co. kept that quiet.
Everyone’s favourite Somalian, Ilhan Omar a member of Congress is against USAID being dismantled because almost $2.3 billion has been sent to her homeland since 2022. She says she is in Congress to protect the interests of Somalia from with the US system, A violation of her oath to say the least. Look at the dumb questions the Democrats are asking Trump’s nominees and contrast with the free ride Ms Omar gets.
On top of all the regime change and supporting dodgy countries USAID funded the Covid lab in Wuhan. They are said to be a front for the CIA who have been rogue for as long as they have existed. Latest reports are that all CIA employees have been offered a payoff to clear off and not show their faces again. This is a bit tough on John Ratcliffe who has just assumed the role of CIA Director. Maybe he will have to rebuild it from the ground up.
Iraq got $20 million to produce their own version of Sesame Street. This is a lot more than Al-Jabeeba got for spreading a message that is part of their DNA.
One of the recurring messages from the countries where USAID spread its largesse is that the people of these countries do not see any of this money, it is all going to the usual suspects.
The Democrat politicians in Washington are apoplectic. Their message is loud and clear, if we allow this to happen at USAID it’s going to happen at other departments and agencies. Their corruption will be exposed and the tax payers are going to go ballistic. My big worry is why can’t we have the same here. I suppose if they did try it it would be it would be those same people responsible for the mess who would be in charge of cleaning it up. That is why the Donald has used Elon to spearhead the investigation.
The Democrats are claiming that USAID was created by Congress and therefore only Congress can shut it down. Another porky pie. It was created by an Executive Order signed by JFK in 1961. The Donald says he is not against the concept but it has turned into a money laundering scheme run by lefty lunatics. Don’t hold your breath.
As has been pointed out, USAID is only 0.7% of the federal budget. With the astounding revelations coming out how bad is the other 99.3% going to be. We finally begin to see how big the swamp really is and where it gets its money from. I reckon the biggie has to be the Department of Defence. Just before 9/11 Rumsfeld admitted there was a $2.3 trillion black hole in the Pentagon audit. That makes Robber Reeves and her £22 billion black hole look a bit insignificant.
