G6E3 – Those different ones like what I like (Part 3 of 6)

Includes: Golden Earing, Men Without Hats, Rembrandts, KT Tunstall, Cutting Crew and A-Ha

Welcome pop pickers.

This is based on stuff like what I like, there will be various bands and artists to try and cheer you up and kick-start your weekend.  Hopefully for many of you, to bring back some fond memories and get your foot tapping.

This week is back to stuff like what I like.  Last time was one-hit wonders, I thought this time to do something you do not hear or see much about, two-hit wonders.

Thank you to Wiki.

The Tunes:

The featured song is quite possibly, and arguably the best driving song ever:

Golden Earring – Radar Love

Their other hit was this:

Golden Earring – Twilight Zone.

Strangely enough, Radar Love only managed No 13 in the charts, but Twilight Zone managed No 10.

Another band was Men Without Hats.

Men Without Hats ~ Safety Dance ~ Live 1985 in Montreal   Superb tune this, I am sure you will know it.  Managed to get to No 3, deserved better.

Their other hit being:

Men Without Hats – Pop Goes the World [Club MTV] *1987* – me neither.  Managed No 20, not exactly memorable, but a decent enough tune.

How about this:

The Rembrandts perform the Friends theme song ” I’ll Be There For You “.  Now if it wasn’t for the fact like many, I have watched friends so many times, I would get to like this again.  Still, excellent tune though even though heard far too much.  Managed No 1.

Their other one:

The Rembrandts “Just the Way it Is Baby” live appearance.  Managed No 17, I do not remember it though.

I think most will like these next two tunes:

KT Tunstall – Suddenly I See (The Quay Sessions).  I found this live version, which shows that she really is rather good.

How many remember her other hit?  I suspect not many, until you hear the opening part to this song:

KT Tunstall – Black Horse & The Cherry Tree

This one is played quite a bit:

Cutting Crew – I Just Died In Your Arms (1987)

Their other one?

Cutting Crew – I’ve Been In Love Before (1987).  I vaguely remember it, pleasant tune though.

To finish off, and in fairness maybe a few tunes more than two, but only two big hits:

a-ha – Take On Me (Official Video) – brilliant song.

Their other major hit you will also know:

a-ha live – The Sun Always Shines on TV (HD), Royal Albert Hall v2.0, London 08-10-2010

Singalong, enjoy and be happy!
