After last week’s astounding success by Reform UK in the one Westminster by election and the local elections what can the future hold for Nigel Farage’s personal fiefdom.
It is more than obvious that the MSM and especially Al-Jabeeba will be sharpening their knives and holding the new boys on the block strictly to account. Heaven help any Reformer who even sets the cutlery wrong at the table.
They now have two fairly high profile ladies as respectively an MP and Mayor of Lincolnshire. Now MPs don’t really have to do much but a Mayor, let’s see. They also control 9 or so Councils and are looking to get a coalition going on several others. Good luck with that part, the other parties will not touch Reform with a bargepole. At least they can beat off the usual charges of misogyny.
It is heavily rumoured that in the US Steve Bannon war gamed all the policy possibilities before the Donald won the election. This allowed them to flood the Democrats with their agenda and be ready to counter their usually hysterical reaction. I remain unconvinced they predicted the amount of law fare they would face.
Elon Musk famously called out Farage for not being up to the job. He can probably spot a grifter a mile off. Regardless of the fact that Reform had more success than their wildest dreams they probably should have been somewhat more prepared for the consequences than seems to be the case.
I fear Nigel is cast in much the same mold as the fat Turk. He can talk the talk but doesn’t like to work hard at the details. It looks like lots of shooting from the hip so far. Andrea Jenkins suggesting that the invaders be kept in tents rather than 5 star hotel is great but it wasn’t thought through because she then said they should be “confined”. This leads to the left’s favourite thing “camps”. Now lefty camps are wonderful in their eyes, but far-right camps, it’s only a step away from the word concentration.
Then we had the plans to get rid of climate and DEI staff in the councils and stop the much abused working from home culture so prevalent in the public sector. It turns out that Councillors have no control over the hiring and firing of staff so they won’t get very far with climate and DEI staff getting the bum’s rush and many organisations have downsized their office space and can no longer accommodate all their staff in the available office space five days a week.
Their latest plans are to resist invaders being moved to their manor. This gives our dreadful government a ready made target with no doubt multiple judges lined up to enforce any Home Office decisions on where invaders will be dumped. We wouldn’t expect any less from the most unpopular Prime Minister in years.
This comes on top of Farage’s decision, I am loathe to call it a promise, to create a Minister for Deportations. Only a few days ago he said it would be impossible to deport these people, now he wants a Minister for it. I wonder who they will deport and how. The rest of the world know we are a soft touch and the chances of them wanting their own people back is non existent. I do believe several Reformers have said they want to leave the ECHR. There was an article about Denmark’s treatment of illegals recently. Denmark gets rid of these it does not want while still being a member said ECHR. I wonder how they manage to do that when we seemingly can’t.
Satan Blair politicised just about every area of our lives. The blob as it is often known has its tentacles everywhere. This amorphous mess will resist Reform with every ounce of their considerable strength.
I fear the solutions here will not be like those in the USA. They can hire and fire with apparent ease, dodgy judges notwithstanding. Our employment laws are much stricter and the compensation bill will be far larger than any savings.
The legacy parties have no interest in Reform making a fist of anything. Come the next election they will be highlighting Reform’s lack of progress or they both know they will be toast.
It is galling for me to point out that any failings Reform will have trying to run councils will be relatively insignificant when compared to the long-standing failings of the legacy parties. The scoundrels have had an easy ride from the MSM for decades.
Let’s hope Reform get some really able people in positions of power because their current lineup does not inspire me with any confidence. Farage is lazy, Tice is an otter’s pocket, Lee Anderson is too much a bruiser and the chairman should not be trusted. I fear if any of them show promise the grifter in chief will have them out, he does not like any competition.
The toolmaker’s son and the anchor baby will be desperate for the nuisance that is Reform to sink, preferably without a trace. Neither will still be leading their party by the time of the next election but they may not admit that yet even to themselves.
As a kind of postscript the Times is reporting that the government plans to restrict visa applications from Pakistan, Nigeria and Sri Lanka following the surge for Reform. Somebody posting as DavidPBMaddox has tweeted that Tory MPs will be holding meetings this week to discuss how they can remove Kemi Khazi as leader, those meeting must have been going on for some time, the anchor baby has been worse than useless.
