An Old Man’s Musings Part Eight

It is unlikely that the Petition will be debated but it does send out a very powerful message to the gang of prats at the top and even, perhaps, some of the normies will sit up and take notice.

I wonder; at the height of the Covid scam I spoke to a couple (mid-fifties?) and mentioned I was unjabbed. They took a figurative step back in horror. I asked him why he had had the jab – ‘Oh, just go along with the flow …

There is a great opportunity here for Reform  but, like many others, I am a bit uneasy about Nigel’s stance on the invaders.- is he anti-illegals or has he realised it is too late? Any views?

Wish I had a pound for every hour I have spent over the years trying to get printers to do their thing without hassle. I don’t have a big printing requirement so have managed with a few Canon Pixma. When one had an inextricable paper jam I thought I would upscale a bit and bought an HP Deskjet 2800e.

It looked the biz but the legend on the top was a Red Flag. ‘Keep it Simple.’The setup software is HP Smart. The words Simple, Easy and Smart should be banned from anything to do with technology.

I tried to set up WIFI printing…….no joy. Tried again with USB. It worked for a while and then stopped working. I then bought another Pixma – that was going fine until it stopped going fine.

Went back to the Deskjet and managed to get it operating on WIFI. Then it stopped. Tried again with USB, no joy. I knew, at that poi that the printer worked. Fiddled about some more  and contacted HP help. Bod took over my pc and concluded that the problem was viruses on my pc.

Tomorrow I may find the strength to have another go. Very wearying.  In one job long ago I had a Brother laser printer which was brilliant – anyone got recommendations for a modest cost printer that is easy to set up and that woks?

Had a letter from The Salvation Army appealing for funds to help the homeless at Christmas. Have a soft spot for them as they managed to track down my father when he disappeared for years. However,  looking online the CEO takes £130k a year and their DEI section is fifteen strong. Binned the stuff. I shall wander the streets of Swansea nearer Christmas withy a few notes in my pocket.

I was not involved but we should remember and venerate those of the flock who did us proud.

The Puffin Wars

Oh it’s Puffin this and Puffin that
and Puffin keep your ground
but it’s please to walk in front Sir
when the Blogs of War come round.

Oh it’s please to walk in front Sir
when the Blogs of War come round.

From Fatty’s shore to where we are
we’ve traveled long and far
all eager for the fight my boys
‘cause that’s the boys we are.

We feinted left and sallied right
oh how we laughed out loud
we danced and swayed and did it all
just to please crowd.

We’d like to be, you know,
acknowledged from the start,

no contest bruv, it’s obvious
the Puffin knows his art
no contest bruv, it’s obvious
the Puffin knows his art.

Saw a video about, as far as I could fathom, the shenanigans going on in  the House and  The Senate iwhich concentrated on Mitch McConnell. He looks far more gaga than Biden – WTF!

Saw a quote the other day about Ken Dodd which I had not seen before ‘ And, why, Mr Dodd did you think you owed the Inland Revenue nothing?  Well Sir, I live on the coast.  Saw him in Croydon many years ago – really bloody funny and true to his fashion we did not get out until after 1 a.m.

This is not my blog, nor have I any executive powers but I say we are family. Some years ago my niece called me and said uncle D I am desperate and Christmas is coming on and I have no money,so I sent her some. That is blood family but if anyone out there is struggling please shout out.We are here.
