What a combination!
Washington has pursued a rather peculiar policy on post war Europe, paternalism at first devious opportunism post Soviet collapse.
The recent Trump mantra that Europe has to pay its way militarily is new.
As an officer in the NATO command structure for twenty years I can assure everyone that Washington always insisted on a 51% shareholding so when the chips were down they could make the important calls. NATO expansion was at the behest of the American neo-cons & EU lapdogs, sponsored financially by the industrial military complex.
The United States simply has to be top dog. It is a global phenomenon as any international map showing its militarily & naval bases confirm. It is a spiritual mutation of 1870s Prussia as Eisenhower forewarned in 1960. He also warned of perverted corporate science which holds bureaucrats in a vice-like grip from fake pandemics to climate change.
Russophobia is rampant in the Anglo European political class. Fostered by the CIA/MI6/Mossad bribery/blackmail axis. So let’s put the links of the bizarre chain together to find out why Europe is now sliding in to the abyss.

An irrational fear of the Russian Federation. Why?
Tsarist Russia was a threat to the British Empire via Afghanistan by land & a potential threat via the sea with access to a warm water ports.
France also was uneasy with the weakening Ottoman strategic counterweight. The result was the Crimean war, a somewhat Pyrrhic victory for the Anglo French alliance.
However it seems a fear of Russia became embedded in the British psyche at that time manifested by popular music hall jingoism.
Although in the Great War Russia was linked by treaty to France, Britain had no formal treaty with either country.
The Entente Cordiale was NOT a treaty & the Treaty of London (April 1839) was void.
At the end of the war Britain landed a doomed military expedition at Archangel to support White Russian counter revolution. From that time a mutual hostility & distrust with a Soviet Russia took root. Notwithstanding WW II military cooperation there was no fundamental improvement in relations post war.
A gap in Anglo American traditional education leaves a chasm in common sense.
NATO was conceived as an effective defensive response yet the fall of the Soviet empire decades later did not bring the expected end to the Cold War. too many snouts in the trough. An expansion of NATO through the erstwhile Warsaw pact countries up to the borders of the Russian Federation triggered an unnecessary uneasy stand off sponsored by the US military industrial congressional complex, stoked periodically by the CIA/MI6 combo with rather crude false flag attacks & the usual relentlessly legacy complicit media.
NATO members have drifted along, gingered up by the Baltic Chihuahua puppies with axes to grind (albeit legitimate axes). Add typical Polish volatile emotion to the mix & the results are less than helpful.
Corporate America wanted to break up the Russian Federation & take the natural resources using a corrupt Ukrainian proxy. Remember corporate America pays political donations.
Can we please get rid of the legacy media ‘unprovoked’ nonsense. An hostile armed Ukraine is an existential threat to the Russian Federation obvious even to the layman.

Deutschland hat sich selbst auf beschämende Weise erobert.
Finland is also now lavatory bound as I predicted to an avalanche of abuse, when it foolishly joined NATO after eighty years successful neutrality.
EU GDP is falling & the Russian Federation GDP is rising. BRICS is the new game in town & America is generously offering to take up the slack for Europe in oil & gas at a price. A long term goal by their own admission.
I quote Kissinger “to be an enemy of America is dangerous, to be a friend is fatal”.
Britain, still a significant regional economy, is suffering from a suicidal unilateral net zero climate policy, largely uncrticised by national media for a decade. The United Kingdom is still in the top ten ranking of global manufacturing nations, this cannot continue with electricity prices the highest in the world.
No EU regulation has been rolled back since Brexit, tax is at an all time high whilst much of the revenue is sent abroad on madcap war & eco schemes.
Mass immigration, the cancer in the soul of Western Europe brings commercially superfluous unskilled labour to binge on welfare as wealth creators flee to sunnier economic uplands.
Crimes soars, educational standards slump, no West European countries are spared.
“England hath made shameful conquests itself.”
Forever wars continue sponsored by weary taxpayers, spiralling debt & degraded fiat currencies.
Germany as everyone knows was the engine room of the EU economy.
Britain has departed, France is basket case & €billions have feathered the nests of some of the world’s leading cokeheads.
How can our political leaders, legacy media editors, Gilbertian generals & trade union leaders not have foreseen all this
as did I ?
Is there rescue at hand? The AFD can rescue Germany politically but is it too late economically? Hungary’s natural home is with Brics.
The French right wing politically on target but I doubt economically.
In Britain there is no coordinated plausible opposition as yet, protest groups are not governments in waiting albeit good work from Ben Habib & Rupert Lowe.

Where have the great newspapers gone?
Financial Times, Daily Telegraph, Wall St. Journal, London Times et al.
Why are they all editorially surprised at every predictable turn of events?
Where are the giant political commentators of yesteryear?
Can anybody believe Europe benefits by a needless hostility to Christian Orthodox Russian Federation ?
Or US Sino-paranoia is a recipe for global peace or trade.
Nobody seems to be at the helm & we are all on a lee shore.
