Falastini

The title of this article is the arabic for Palestinians. I always suspected that Philistine was exactly the same thing but I may be mistaken. Whatever the case, they are nowt but trouble. The reason there are so many variations on arabic words written in our latin script is that arabic in general does not have short vowels. For example the muh of muhammed is written with just MH in arabic.

I may have mentioned I lived in Kuwait for 1 year 8 months and 10 days. This was 79-80. I left because the Iraq Iran War had kicked off and it was too close for comfort.

There were around 600k pallies in Kuwait when I was there, they were about 1/3 of the population. They were the only people who paid income tax, it was 10% and went to the PLO. Yassir Arafat, the then leader of the PLO also turned up every year with his begging bowl. He was swiftly followed by King Hussein of Jordan. Those two made an annual tour of the rich gulf states. The King because his country was pretty poor, Arafat because he was a greedy bar steward with at least 5 homes and a bank balance to match; his personal wealth was reckoned in the hundreds of millions.

A few of them disappeared for a few months every year, the rumour was they were either training to be terrorists or taking part in terrorist attacks. One where my wife worked was allegedly a programmer. He spent all day writing bits of the Koran on his program listings. This made him a good muslim and so nobody ever queried why he never produced anything, he was one of those who disappeared for a few months here and there.

All of them had only one thing at the top of their minds, It was Palestine and they were obsessed to recover it and get rid of the Jews whom they saw as occupiers. As I gained a little experience of Arabs but almost none of Jews I pretty soon basically detested the Arabs.

There are all sorts of stories that the Ashkenazi Jews are Khazarians who have nothing to do with Israel and the Sephardic ones are those who were turfed out by the Romans. I have no idea either way but DNA tests are forbidden by law in Israel. This may imply something.

Acquiring Kuwaiti citizenship is allowed by law. Their problem is they don’t want anybody to succeed. They keep increasing the number of years required as applications trickle in. I don’t think any of the Palestinians qualified and even if they did, may have preferred to remain as they were.

When Saddam Hussein invaded Kuwait many Kuwaitis fled or were killed. The Palestinians however remained and thought they might fill the vacuum. I have heard they began walking round like they owned the place. I also remember seeing TV pictures of one of my former colleagues boarding the bus to be removed to Iraq.

Everywhere the Palestinians have ever been has suffered violence, mostly from the Palestinians themselves. It was true with Black September in 1970 in Jordan. It was doubly true in Lebanon during their civil war, Lebanon was once called the Riviera or Paris of the Middle East and just as true in Egypt. Wherever they go trouble follows and this is the main reason why none of the neighbouring countries wants to host them, In fact no muslim country wants them.

Now one of our judges has decided they can move here using legislation designed for Ukrainians. This is not a good move and even though Keith has said he is against it, he will do nothing to stop what he will see as extra voters turning up wholesale. The judge by the way, looks like a hard drive check would yield a prosecution.

For those not of an age to remember, Black September was a civil war in Jordan between the King and Yassir Arafat’s PLO. After the Six Day war in 1967 the PLO had been congregating in Jordan. They started to call for the overthrow of King Hussein and then hijacked 4 planes to Dawson’s Field in Jordan. The hijacks were carried out by the PFLP, an organisation led by George Habash a Christian Palestinian. He was as bloodthirsty as the others and I remember an Egyptian in Kuwait telling me that Habash was arabic for turkey as in the bird.

The Palestinians lost the Black September struggle and were allowed to move to Lebanon where they commenced to turn that country into the you know what hole it is today. One of their other spectaculars was the massacre of Israelis at the 1972 Munich Olympics; this was followed by Israel’s attempt to hunt down the perpetrators.

One of their characteristics is as their power grows, so does their arrogance and insolence.

The latest Palestinian attack was in Israel on October 7 2023, it is still ongoing. There are still hostages unaccounted for, many may be dead, and the end result was Gaza being levelled to rubble. March 15th 2025 may see the ceasefire end and full scale hostilities breaking out. There are reports the US has been moving B-52s all over the place. It is not going to end well.

Although I was not a great fan of the Arabs in general, even I could see a difference between the Palestinians and the rest.

If our idiot Prime Minister decides to allow Palestinians to settle here we can expect yet more trouble. The Donald has said if they leave they won’t be allowed back and there is no chance Netanyahu will want to see them again. That means whoever takes them in will never be rid of them. The latest wheeze is that we are looking for “skilled” dog walkers. I am not totally against this because the muzz in general hate dogs.

Speaking of unwelcome invaders, Lundy Island, home to many puffins of the feathered variety, was occupied from 1627 to 1632 by Barbary pirates and used as a base to capture slaves. It has quite the chequered history.
