An Old Man’s Musings, Part Twelve

Managed to catch the first ten minutes of PMQs. Starmer is a hard watch but I forced myself to see out the sparring between him and Bad Enoch.

I reckon Willy S had it right with this shitshow:

“Life’s but a walking shadow; a poor player That struts and frets his hour upon the stage And then is heard no more: it is a tale Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury Signifying nothing.”

That old bat (Phillips?) on the labour front bench gesticulating, gurning and shouting across the aisle caught my eye. WTF!!

Thinking about people saying how hard things are today.

When we went to live with our aunt in her fish and chip shop in Liverpool –On City Road, close to Goodison Park – the toilet was in the back yard. Cut up pieces of The Liverpool Echo on a string served as toilet paper and bath time was Saturday morning on the kitchen rug in a tin bath.

We had the choice of three dancehalls, good nights out in our uncle’s company social club; a couple of private clubs in the town centre and plenty of opportunity for sports particularly football, ice skating and cycling in North Wales.

And – I got to see the first airing of Coronation Street – that Elsie Tanner looked a right goer, what more could one ask for?

Those were the days my friend!  Whatever, we had a great time of it and I look back now with a great deal of affection.

I need some help from my fellow Puffins – I am becoming confused over the status of Nigel and Tommy R.

What is the consensus about these two? I used to vote UKIP and I have contributed from time to time to TR’s appeals for financial help.

Niget dropped in my estimation when he withdrew his candidates in the 2019 election although I watch many of his videos as I love seeing him stick it to all and sundry. I am considering becoming a paid-up member of Reform but I am thinking Rupert Lowe would be the better bet for leader. I also worry about having a Muslim as one of the leading lights.

Lots of comments about Tommy being in it for the money, controlled opposition etc but it is undeniable that he is on a potential hit list and has forfeited an awful lot personally and financially.

What do you think?

It is really great to have Elon and The Don shaking things up and I have more optimism about this year. It is going to be a rough ride……
