As I sit musing about life, love and tingz I wonder where all the years have gone – my youngest grandaughter was 16 this week – how did that happen? Not to mention great grandchildren. Ah well, life is what happens to us while we are waiting for something to happen.
The Past
I do not tread the straight path,
That would be the death of me,
My life has been a voyage
As all my friends agree.I aim for there, I end up here,
But that is how it goes,
If I had not then gone that way,
I would not now repose,
At where I am, and what I do
And how that works, who knows? My life is full of big events
All leading from the past,
At least it keeps me on my toes
How can I curse the past?Gillygangle
Posibly better to dwell on the past as the present is looking more and more horrific.
I ponder about El Donaldo, about Nige, about TTK and the rest of the cast of thousands doing their best to turn the World upside down.
Have totally given up on Nigel. A leader needs to develop a supportive team and he has thrown away any chance of that. It is hard to understand his motivation. Is he Mr Super Ego? Is he afraid of being challenged? Is he afraid of being outshone?
Some of that would be understandable but he appears to be intent on destroying those who disagree with him. That is not only counter-productive but demonstrates a cruel streak.
I have not read 1984 nor Animal Farm but I think I will; surely there cannot be more shite to be heaped upon us?
My admiration for us Puffins is unbounded. I mentioned the ‘visions’ I occasionally have while settling down to sleep. Every day is a schoolday on GP as I was referred to ‘Charles Bonnet Syndrome’ which seems to be what I have. Very interesting as I have (had) glaucoma which I discovered many many years ago when I had a thrombosis in my left eye.
Following years of treatment including five eye operations I have been signed off. I have a degree of blurred vision in that eye but not a great loss of vision as most sufferers of the syndrome appear to have. In read that my ‘visions’ are actually hallucinations; so I appear to be on the fringe.
Watched Russell Brand talking earlier. Have always been a bit put off by his style but there is no doubt he is a bright bugger and gets to the heart of the matter. I hold him alongside George Galloway as someone worth listening to without necessarily following his line. Free speech innit?
Must spend more time on the alternative platforms such as Rumble, so much to be aware of in this fast changing world, dificult to keep up with it all.
Disgusting scenes in Epping – the filth bussing ‘protestors’ from and to their lodgings. All paid for by whom? The drone footage is revealing – hundreds of police acting as a shield between the invaders and rightly concerned locals. I have had a couple of minor brushes with the police in the past but I would have gone to their assistance nevertheless. Not any more, they have chosen their side.
This morning, quite unbidden, the names of Micky Spillane and Hank Janson came into my mind. In my early teens these two authors were the closest we got to any sniff of porn. Both wrote crime novels but often with a direct or indirect sex angle. It was all we had in those days apart from the odd magazine found in a hedge or ‘Health and Beauty’ – a publication showcasing lithe young ladies sporting themselves outdoors.
Thanks to the many Puffins who have given me the names of authors, I have read some of them but that leaves a great many to be followed up. I was always known as a bookworm as a nipper and I usually spend a few hours reading before bed each evening.
@It2tta, it was great to meet you and of course all who agttended, I could sense that you were nervous but the tent and tumble act was quite entertaining. TBF there was quite a slope leading down to the tents, and of course we look after our own. You are a true Puffin! Manly hug!
