People who have done the 3 peaks will know about the Sulber Nick feature between Ingleborough and Horton in Ribblesdale.
Sulber is 2.5Km west of Horton. You can see an OS map of the area using streetmap.co.uk. Zoom the map to 1:25,000 using controls on the right.
We found this ancient wall, as marked on the OS as ‘settlement and field system’. Pen-y-Ghent in background
We saw the walls of the enclosures – 2 squares about 25 metres across. (Ingleborough summit plateau in background)
We found this rock full of fossils.
But the best bit was this stunning view down Crummackdale from Thieves Moss. Pendle Hill in background.
